One day celebration of the Lowcountry's favorite crustacean. Restaurants offer their best shrimp recipes. The festival also features marine exhibits, Frogmore stew contest, live music, children's games, and crafts. The Shrimp Festival is set for October 5-6, 2007, in historic downtown Beaufort.

The premiere Beaufort Film Festival is set for February 22-24, 2007. Three days of international and local short films, feature films, animation, filmmakers surprises, educational forums, guest speakers, parties, and the quiet charm of historic Beaufort will all be on display. Many of the directors will be here at the festival to talk about and answer your questions about their films, and this is possibly your only opportunity to get close to them and see their early works before they get "discovered". Also, the festival will feature the very successful annual event, Great Chefs of the South. Some of the finest culinary artists from the southeastern United States will be here to wine and dine you.
