Our family reunion was a very memorable one. There is a lot to do on this island- crabbing, swimming, biking, kayaking, fishing, boogie boarding, running, dolphin watching cruise and more. One of the best feature of this house is its location- it is right across from one of the beach access point. We just got our stuff and walked to the beach. We boogie boarded every day at the eastern part of the beach where it juts out into the ocean. There are some good waves at high tide but I must warn you that these waves can come in strong and fast so don't be without a board or some life preserve esp for the little ones since there is no life guards. At low tide, the water is calm and very shallow far out into the ocean. That's the best time to look for conches and other sea creatures and walk on the sand bars. Its also the best time to study the beach to know what parts will be deep during the high tide because the currents will carry you westward along the beach during the high tide and potentially sweep you off a shallow sand bar if you are too deep and near its edge. Also, there is a small alligator in the lagoons behind the house but it didn't bother anyone but heed all warnings about alligators. I think I saw more wild life here on this island than the Hunting Island State Park that is next to Fripp Island. Also, the best crabbing sites are the piers- the one at Hunting State park is the best and you can see dolphins at high tide there. Thanks again to the owner for making this place available. We definitely enjoyed our stay and I think that this place is the best on this island for location and price.
