This secluded, private retreat offers fantastic sunset views over the tidal marsh and a peaceful setting, yet it is centrally located on the best part of Fripp Island.
You really can walk to the beach-- just 1½ short blocks down Swordfish Road. This part of the beach (mid-island) is sandy all day, even at high tide.
We're also a short walk to the Beach Club, which now includes a food court, Starbucks coffee and an ice cream shop.
Your rental includes a 4-seater golf cart (we have 2 of them), gas grill, hammock, beach chairs and toys, books, games, DVDs, CDs, and much more.
The views of the marsh are beautiful, especially at sunset from the comfort of the large screened porch. You can also explore the marsh on the walking / bike pathway right next door, which leads to a wooden bridge for crabbing.
After the view and the location, the best feature of this house is the privacy. There are no neighbors close by (take another look at the exterior photos). You won't see or hear neighbors, and you won't worry about bothering neighbors either. This is especially nice if you are traveling with kids. The privacy really takes the stress out of your vacation.
The newly updated (July 2011) master bedroom features a queen bed, a marsh view, walk-in closet, and its own bathroom.
The second bedroom has a queen bed, and the third bedroom has a set of bunk beds and two twins.
The second and third bedroom share a bathtub/shower and a toilet, but each bedroom has its own private bathroom area with a sink.
There is also a half bathroom off the main living area and another bathroom with shower underneath the house (perfect for coming back from the beach).
The great room features new, comfortable furniture, with a dining table that seats 8. Cable TV (32 inch screen), DVD/VCR, AM/FM-CD stereo, and mini-library of DVDs, CDs, books, and board games will keep you entertained.
We have high-speed wi-fi internet, so bring your laptop (if you must), your Kindle, iPad, whatever.
The Beach Club is nearby -- just 2½ blocks away -- featuring two swimming pools (including an oceanside adults-only pool and an Olympic-sized pool for the whole family), Starbucks coffee, internet cafe, 10 tennis courts, an oceanfront restaurant, an oceanfront sports bar, the Sandbar (tropical drinks overlooking the beach), shops, ice cream, new food court, and more. Fripp's other pools, including the kids' favorite Cabana Club and the quiet Ocean Point pool, are a short ride away on the free golf carts or the bikes.
