Parris Island Museum

Offers an all encompassing view to the history of Parris Island. Exhibits range from the attempted colonization by the Spanish in 1521, to photographic depictions of the recruit training process. The Parris Island Museum is open 10:00am – 4:30pm seven days a week and 10:00am – 7:00pm on Thursdays preceding graduation.
The museum is closed on Easter, Thanksgiving, and during the Christmas and New Year's holidays. Admission is free.

Located approximately 16 miles east of Beaufort on Highway 21. This 5000-acre beauty boasts three miles of public beaches, subtropical forests, an 1100-foot fishing pier (one of the longest on the East coast), 140-foot lighthouse (circa 1859), two-hundred camp sites, 15 cabins, nature trails. Disney filmed its live version of "The Jungle Book" here. Year-round.
John Mark Verdier House Museum

This Federal-style mansion, circa 1790's, has enjoyed a vivid past. The Marquis de Lafayette was once a house guest and spoke to the townspeople from its steps. It was later captured by the Union troops during the Civil War and used as their headquarters.

Located nine miles southeast of Beaufort via US 21. A fascinating place to learn and retrace the history of Gullah culture in the Lowcountry. Museum contains exhibits and rare books. Penn Center was the first school established for freed slaves. Admission: $4 Adults, $2 Seniors & Students.
The Beaufort Arsenal Museum

Located on Craven Street across from the Beaufort County Library, the Beaufort Arsenal was completed in 1798 and has since housed the Beaufort Museum since 1939. It is now run by the Historic Beaufort Foundation, a non-profit organization, where it displays a wide range of artifacts, including Indian artifacts, art, textiles, and Civil War weapons. Open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday 10:00am - 5:00pm. Closed Wednesday and Sunday.

Beaufort Fun Park is a family fun park where friends and family meet for parties, class reunions, end of season team activities and entertainment. This family owned Fun Park has an arcade, go-karts, a children's jump castle, water wars, a climbing wall, a euro jump, batting cages, miniature golf, and will have paintball and a super slide coming soon.
